Here at RT Custom Knives we pride ourselves on making that one of a kind knife for you and you alone that will endure for generations. One that you will be proud to use and pass on to your grandchildren.
THE BUILDING PROCESS
step 1. discussion
An open discussion as to what you expect from the knife I will make for you. What will be the intended use for the knife - ie - hunting, food prep, camping/brush clearing.
step 2. design
Now to decide on the steel to be used for the blade and the choices of handle materials open to you. The overall size of YOUR knife, blade style - ie - drop point, Bowie, etc. What style sheath or case you would prefer.
step 3. Construction
Now that the hard part is out of the way I will begin the creation of your knife. Depending on the earlier decisions as to steel chosen for the construction of your knife, this part will either consist of a process known as stock removal or the blade will be hand forged.

Best knives EVER. Wife and I both carry folders and we also have a kitchen knife and steak knife set. Have bought 2 folders as gifts. To date despite lots of use only one has needed sharpening and all still look great. One of the gift knives was used as a prybar so the tip broke and Ross fixed it for free. Nothing but quality, durable, good looking stuff comes from his shop (his security head sees to that, LOL). You get what you pay for and Ross Tyser knives are the best. I will be buying more so I guess that is a very high recommendation.

I received a Ross Tyser custom neck knife for my 70th birthday. I was truly humbled by the thought of such a gift. There is nothing but pure quality in this piece. My only regret was that I didn't have it 50+ years earlier when serving our great country. I'm sure my grandson will be just as honored as myself to have it when my time has come. Words just can't describe the beauty of this masterpiece.

Mr. Tyser has built two high quality knives for me. One is a drop point hunter and the other is a bushcraft. They are so beautiful that you don't want to use them. However, they hold up in the field better than any knife I have ever owned. These knives will be passed down to my sons.

Ross made the first knife for me back in 2010, a custom knife for our son's 16th birthday. Knife exceeded all expectations. Since then Ross has made 4 more knives for me including custom steak knives that are spectacular. I met with Ross and discussed him making a fixed blade utilitarian knife for camping, hunting, or just using to cut up a piece of meat in the kitchen. I had acquired some Giraffe bone scales that I wanted him to use for grips, and the knife was delivered about 2 weeks later. A beautiful piece of art, that I am proud to own and use. He even etched my initials into the side to help keep it where it belongs: on my side! Thanks very much for the great work!

Ross Tyser has created a handsome custom knife, crafted to my specifications. A "Waterfall" Damascus, 4" drop point hunter, Ironwood burl scales. Wow...where to start. I am honored that Ross Tyser has chosen to donate his beautiful knives to the auctions at Disability Resources in Abilene, TX. This says so much about his character as an artist and person. DRI was blessed to receive one of his Wicked Ulu sets that has been chosen as a finalist in Food & Beverage Magazine's 2020 International Competition in the "Kitchen Essentials" Category! I purchased a knife from Ross when we worked together at RR Donnelley Printing Company in Spartanburg.S.C. I was lucky to get this knife -it was many years before he started making knives full time. It is to me considered antique because it was before he really started signing his work. However I did get him to sign it later. One day this knife will be worth a lot because of the years he has been making them now. He did great work in those days and he is an expert at making all kind of knives today. I live in Nova Scotia Canada, I am a commercial lobster fisherman and an avid hunter and sport fisherman. I fell in love with one of Ross hunting knives three years ago and bought it from him and he shipped it up. Well just two weeks ago one of his beautiful jackknives interested me and I just had to have that too. Thank you Ross. You do amazing work my friend.
